How Nexus ERP Suite works
Nexus was built to eliminate the fragmentation of modern business software. With 21 independent microservices, it scales horizontally — accounting, inventory, and POS share data in real time while AI surfaces insights that used to require an analyst. Multi-business management, mTLS between services, GDPR-compliant data export, and SOC 2 audit logging make Nexus enterprise-ready from day one.
Nexus ERP Suite FAQ
What is Nexus ERP Suite?
Nexus ERP Suite is Lebnova's cloud business management platform. It brings double-entry accounting, point of sale, inventory, purchasing, customer and supplier management, team communications and business intelligence into a single dashboard, so finance, sales and operations work from the same live data instead of separate systems. Nexus is multi-tenant: one account can run several independent businesses, each with its own users, permissions, currencies, tax settings and service subscriptions. It is built on 21 Java Spring Boot microservices, which lets each module scale independently, and every module includes AI assistance.
Which business functions does Nexus cover?
Nexus covers the core operations of a trading, retail or service business. Accounting includes the chart of accounts, journal entries, customer invoices, supplier bills, payments and nine standard financial reports. Inventory covers the product catalog with SKUs and barcodes, stock levels, suppliers, purchase orders and valuation. The point of sale handles sales, receipts, split payments and service bookings. Around these, Nexus provides a unified inbox for WhatsApp Business, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, SMS and email, social media publishing, file storage, notifications and analytics. Each business activates only the services it needs.
Do POS sales update inventory and accounting automatically?
Yes. When a sale is completed at the point of sale, Nexus validates stock, credit limit and currency, reduces stock levels and posts a balanced journal entry to the ledger in the same transaction: cash, bank or receivables are debited, while revenue and tax payable are credited. The same automation applies across the platform. Customer invoices, supplier bills, payments received, payments made and stock receipts all generate their journal entries automatically. Accountants work from a ledger that is always current, and the manual re-entry and month-end reconciliation that separate POS and accounting tools usually require are eliminated.
Which financial reports does Nexus produce?
Nexus includes nine core financial reports: Balance Sheet, Income Statement (profit and loss), Cash Flow Statement, Trial Balance, Accounts Receivable Aging and Accounts Payable Aging in 30, 60 and 90-plus day buckets, Monthly Revenue, Expense Report and Period Summary for period-over-period comparison. The Balance Sheet consolidates balances held in different currencies. Inventory and POS add more than 45 operational metrics, including ABC analysis, stock turnover, sales by product, category and payment method, staff performance and peak hours. Reports and tables can be exported to PDF or Excel.
Does Nexus support multiple currencies, such as USD and LBP?
Yes. Nexus is designed for businesses that trade in more than one currency, which is common in Lebanon, the Gulf and international operations. Currency-specific sub-accounts, for example 1110-USD and 1110-EUR, are created automatically the first time a currency is used. Invoices, bills, customer credit limits, receivables, payables and payments can each carry their own currency, exchange rates are recorded on every transaction, and foreign exchange gains and losses are tracked. The point of sale accepts multi-currency payments with live exchange rates, and financial reports consolidate balances across currencies.
What AI features does Nexus include?
Nexus embeds AI in day-to-day work rather than in a separate tool. A conversational business assistant answers plain-language questions such as revenue for the month, best-selling products or the current cash position, using the business's own records. In the communications module, AI categorizes incoming email, scores sentiment, detects urgency and drafts replies for staff to review. Semantic vector search, powered by pgvector and embeddings, finds customers, products, invoices and other records by meaning rather than exact keywords. AI features respect the same permissions as the rest of the platform, so users only see data their role allows.
How does Nexus manage users, permissions and multiple businesses?
Nexus uses role-based access control with 182 granular permissions and eight predefined roles: Super Admin, Admin, Manager, Accountant, Sales Representative, Inventory Manager, Cashier and Viewer. Administrators can use the predefined roles or tailor permissions to their own structure. Data is isolated at business level, so a group can run several companies or branches from one account without mixing their records. Subscriptions work on two levels: the account plan, from Starter to Unlimited, sets the number of businesses, users and storage, and each business then activates only the services it needs, such as Accounting, Inventory or POS.
How is business data secured in Nexus?
Security is built into the architecture. Users can sign in with email and password or Google, add TOTP-based two-factor authentication, and join teams by invitation only. Every request is checked against the user's role and permissions, and each business's data is isolated from other tenants. Internal traffic between Nexus microservices is protected with mutual TLS, and audit logging records who did what and when. Data export and deletion capabilities support GDPR requirements.
